The Attorney General’s Ministry and the Belize Intellectual Property Office (BELIPO) proudly announce that Belize was represented at the Cross-Regional Forum on Intellectual Property and Women’s Entrepreneurship, convened for Caribbean and African countries. The forum, organized by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in collaboration with the Jamaica Intellectual Property Office (JIPO), was held in Kingston, Jamaica, on December 5-6, 2024.
Belize was represented by the Deputy Registrar of BELIPO, alongside three notable Belizean Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs): Dr. Adriani Coleman, owner of Digital Learning and Pedagogical Solutions, Ronelli Requena, owner of Zayvha Sarai, and Jolie Pollard, owner of Ikooma. Their participation underlines Belize’s commitment to fostering innovation and empowering women entrepreneurs through effective intellectual property strategies.
The forum served as a platform to discuss initiatives aimed at promoting the gender perspective in the IP system and featured presentations from various experts. Key topics covered included unique selling propositions for business success, integrating IP in entrepreneurship, and marketing strategies in e-commerce.
The representatives from Belize engaged in dynamic discussions and networking sessions designed to enhance understanding of the IP landscape and explore collaborative opportunities for future development.
