By Zoila Palma: Belize was proudly represented at the 2026 Global Youth Trends Forum, held under the theme “Powering Sustainability: Youth & Green Collar Action,” in Taipei, Taiwan, from January 2–4, 2026.
Belize City Council’s Programs Manager, Micheal Fritz, joined representatives from Belize’s Ministry of Tourism, Youth, Sports and Diaspora Relations for an immersive three-day conference and study tour.
The experience began with an ecological tour of natural springs, museums, and a waste recycling facility, followed by two days of engaging roundtable discussions and conference sessions.
From robust dialogue to collaborative team-based activities, the forum underscored a key takeaway: empowering young people to lead, advocate for, and implement sustainable solutions is critical to our collective future.
The Belize City Council expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Tourism, Youth, Sports and Diaspora Relations and the Youth Development Administration under Taiwan’s Ministry of Education for the opportunity, partnership, and inclusion.
“Belize City continues to show up, contribute meaningfully, and champion youth-led sustainability on the global stage,” the Belize City Council said.
