By Aaron Humes: Belize’s economy grew by an estimated 4.7 percent for 2023, as reported by the Statistical Institute of Belize (SIB).
Most of this growth comes from the services sector, as both agriculture and manufacturing declined by six and one percent respectively but services rose by 9 percent.
The fourth quarter recorded growth of 3.2 percent with similar trends in each sector.
The services sector contributes 64 percent of the national gross domestic product compared to 12 percent each for agriculture and manufacturing.
