By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Dangriga-based EZ Investments’ Griga Dream Ballers have bolstered their roster ahead of the upcoming Belize Professional Basketball League (BPBL) Championship with the addition of Alexander Ariola, a talented 6’5” Belizean forward bringing both local and international experience to the squad.
Ariola, who hails from Belize City, first made headlines in 2019 when he claimed Regular Season MVP honors in the national high school tournament. His basketball journey then took him overseas to Canada, where he competed at the collegiate level. He spent four seasons playing for the Briercrest College Clippers before joining the University of New Brunswick Saint John Seawolves, where he made a major impact. His biggest achievement came in 2025 when he helped lead the Seawolves to an ACAA Championship title, cementing himself as a key figure in the team’s success.
Now, back on home soil, Ariola is set to bring his leadership, skill, and competitive drive to Griga Dream Ballers as they gear up for the BPBL Championship. His arrival adds much-needed depth to the squad as they prepare to compete in the Toucan Cup, which features top teams from the North and South divisions.
“Alexander is back home, hungry, and ready to DREAM BIG with us this season!” Griga Dream Ballers said, expressing excitement over the signing.
Ariola’s experience and versatility will be vital as the Dangriga team seeks to make a strong championship push.
