By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Belize Premier Basketball League (BPBL) kicks off its weekend slate with a marquee matchup on Friday, July 18 at 9:00 pm at the Andres Campos Civic Center in Corozal, where the undefeated San Pedro Tiger Sharks (9–0) take on the Corozal Cerros Suns (2–5).
San Pedro have been unstoppable this season, boasting a perfect record both at home (6–0) and on the road (3–0), and riding a nine-game win streak with a +10 point differential. Their balanced offense and disciplined defense have made them the team to beat.
Corozal, meanwhile, are hoping to build on their recent win and leverage their solid 2–1 home record to pull off a major upset. With playoff hopes still alive, the Suns will need a near-flawless performance to halt the Tiger Sharks’ momentum.
