By Zoila Palma: The Belize Police Department has received 5 new pickup trucks as part of efforts by the Government of Belize to strengthen the department’s operational capacity and improve mobility in the fight against crime.
The vehicles were handed over on Friday, fulfilling a commitment previously made by Minister Julius Espat and the Government of Belize.
Of the five vehicles, two have been assigned to the Cayo District, two to the Belize District and one to the Southern Region, providing additional transportation resources for police officers operating in these areas.
The Ministry of Home Affairs said improved mobility is critical to the Police Department’s ability to respond effectively to crime and carry out its duties, and reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring officers have the resources and equipment needed to keep communities safe.
