Tianguis is Mexico’s most important tourism business gathering, bringing together more than 1,000 buyers and representatives from 17 countries.
Belize’s strategy at Tianguis focused on consolidating Mexico as a priority source market due to its cultural affinity, geographical proximity, and the traveler’s profile.
The Belize Tourism Board (BTB) said that these appointments with the Mexican trade allowed them to discuss future opportunities for developing multi-destination products.
“Just a few hours by land from Chetumal or via a regional flight from Cancún, Belize is the natural extension of a trip to southeastern Mexico,” BTB said.
