Held from June 4–7 under the theme “De la Frontera al Futuro: Chetumal, Quintana Roo como Plataforma Estratégica para Nuevos Mercados,” (From the Border to the Future: Chetumal, Quintana Roo as a Strategic Platform for New Markets), the Belize delegation was led by Mr. Ishmael Quiroz, Executive Director, BELTRAIDE and Mr. Lincoln Blake, Director, IPCU. The mission provided an opportunity to showcase Belize’s strategic advantages to an audience of more than 560 regional buyers, manufacturers, distributors, and industry leaders.
Key Highlights from the Summit:
- The Belize Gateway Presentation: In collaboration with representatives from the Government of the State of Quintana Roo, the Belize delegation delivered a presentation entitled “Development of New Markets for Mexico through Chetumal.” The presentation highlighted the Belize–Mexico border region as a strategic logistics, industrial, and commercial corridor that offers Mexican companies direct access to Belize and the wider CARICOM market. The presentation generated significant interest and engagement from business leaders, engineers, and decision-makers in attendance.
- High-Impact B2B Matchmaking: The delegation participated in a series of private business meetings with leading companies and industry associations, including Americ C.C., Poliflex, Kobrex, Argos, Tecnotray, Cross Line/Expo Eléctrica, Hubbell, Condumex, Trade Electric, and ACOME Jalisco. Discussions focused on investment opportunities, market expansion, regional supply chain integration, and the benefits of establishing operations in Belize, including access to regional markets, investment incentives, and a supportive business environment.
- Premium Export Promotion & Investment Outreach: BELTRAIDE also hosted an exhibition booth dedicated to promoting Belizean exports and investment opportunities. The delegation showcased a range of Belizean products, including distilled rum, juices, jams, pepper sauces, and chocolate powder, while providing prospective investors and distributors with information on Belize’s Fiscal Incentives Programme and other business facilitation services.
The mission reinforced Belize’s position as a competitive destination for investment, manufacturing, logistics, and trade, while strengthening relationships with key regional stakeholders and creating new opportunities for economic collaboration between Belize, Mexico, and the wider region
