By Zoila Palma:  The National Climate Change Office is actively participating in the World Bank–KPOK Knowledge Exchange on Blue Carbon, being held from March 31 to April 4, 2025, in Seoul and Jeju, Republic of Korea.

This key event brings together countries and experts to explore blue carbon, carbon markets, and potential opportunities for international collaboration.

Representing Belize at the exchange is the Deputy Chief Climate Change Officer, who is engaging in technical sessions on blue carbon.

Belize is sharing valuable lessons learned from its ongoing work and presenting efforts aimed at enhancing carbon market readiness.

Blue and green carbon continue to be priority areas in Belize’s Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs).

Opportunities like this Knowledge Exchange provides Belize with important insights and guidance, ensuring that we remain at the forefront of climate action and strengthen nationally driven approach to addressing climate change.
