Belize has successfully concluded its participation in the 34th Session of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) Assembly, strategically strengthening its influence on the global maritime stage.

The Ministry of Public Utilities, Energy & Logistics is proud to highlight the delegation’s effective reaffirmation of our national commitment to a secure, safe, and environmentally sustainable maritime sector.

Hon. Michel Chebat, Minister of Public Utilities, Energy & Logistics, delivered a pivotal National Statement on behalf of Belize. His address articulated key policy priorities, emphasizing:

  1. Global Shipping Stability: The necessity of maintaining stability and resilience across international shipping operations.
  2. Seafarer Welfare: The paramount importance of protecting and supporting the world’s seafarers.
  3. Coordinated Action: The urgent need for robust, international collaboration to address maritime security and complex environmental challenges.
