By Zoila Palma:  Belize has granted amnesty to more than 10,000 men, women, and children who qualified under the program, providing them with legal recognition and opportunities to fully participate in society.

During his budget presentation today, Minister of Immigration, Governance and Labour Kareem Musa highlighted that beneficiaries of the amnesty can now legally enter the workforce, contributing to Belize’s economic growth.

The program is part of a broader government initiative to regularize the status of individuals who previously lacked legal documentation, ensuring access to employment.

Minister Musa emphasized that integrating these residents into the formal economy will not only benefit the individuals and their families but also strengthen Belize’s overall labor market and productivity.
