By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Belize’s U-15 Women’s National Volleyball Team returns to the court on Friday evening in Managua, Nicaragua, determined to bounce back after two hard-fought defeats in the 2nd Central American Under-15 Invitational Volleyball Championship.
The young Belizean side debuted on Wednesday, December 10, against Honduras. Despite showing resilience, including a spirited second-set win, Belize fell 3–1 (25–23, 22–25, 25–18, 25–16). On Thursday, December 11, Belize engaged in a roller-coaster battle with Guatemala, pushing the match to five sets. Belize claimed the first two sets 25–20 and 31–29, but Guatemala rallied to take the next three 25–23, 25–17, and 15–13, sealing a narrow 3–2 victory.

Now, Belize turn their focus to Friday, December 12, when they face hosts Nicaragua at 6:30 pm local time. The match promises to be another stern test, with Nicaragua already showing strength in their opening win over El Salvador. Belize will then close out the group stage on Saturday, December 13, against El Salvador at 4:00 p.m.
The tournament concludes Sunday, December 14, with the bronze medal match at 4:00 p.m. between the teams ranked third and fourth after classification play, followed by the championship final at 6:30 pm. between the top two sides.
For Belize, the remaining schedule offers both challenges and opportunities. A strong showing against Nicaragua and El Salvador could lift the team into contention for the bronze medal match.
