Belize Karate Federation wins silver, bronze medals at Central American Karate Championships 2024

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Belize Karate Federation (BKF) won a silver medal and a bronze medal at the Central American Karate Championships 2024 held in San Salvador, El Salvador from February 20-25.

The BKF said Othoniel Vazquez won a silver medal in the Under 12 Boys Kumite -35kg category while Keenan Thimbrel got a bronze medal in the Under 14 Boys Kumite U14 Male -40kg category.

Total the BKF sent seven representatives to the regional competition.

Keenan Thimbrel, Kata U14 Individual Male & Kumite U14 Male -40kg

Mary Carrillo, Kata Cadet Individual Female

John Borland, Kumite Cadet Male +70 kg

Jabin Ramos, Kumite Cadet Male +70kg

BKF karate judges also participated in a judges seminar and took international judging exams at the event.

In total, the Belize delegation which was led by BKF President Herman Pastor Jr. included the Vice President, Secretary General, coaches, judges and family supporters.
