By Zoila Palma: The Pesticides Control Board (PCB) of Belize hosted Pesticides Awareness Day 2025 on Friday, September 26 in Central Farm, Cayo District.
The event formed part of Pesticides Awareness Week, observed across the CARICOM region from September 22–26 in collaboration with the Coordinating Group of Pesticides Control Boards of the Caribbean (CGPC).
The open day featured practical demonstrations under the National Pesticide Training and Certification Program, covering topics such as nozzle selection, pesticide formulations, safe use of personal protective equipment, and management of empty pesticide containers.
A garden display also highlighted plants with natural pesticide properties.
Students, farmers, vendors, and members of the public joined the event, which also showcased exhibits from partners in agriculture, health, and environmental conservation.
