By Zoila Palma: In a major step toward enhancing regional tourism, the Ministry of Tourism, Youth, Sports & Diaspora Relations, in partnership with the Belize Tourism Industry Association (BTIA), hosted the Mundo Maya Exchange in Placencia.

The event held on June 30 brought together tour operators and tourism stakeholders from across the Mundo Maya region for a day of focused dialogue, collaboration, and strategic networking.

The initiative aimed to strengthen cross-border partnerships and encourage the development of multi-destination travel experiences within the region.

Belizean tourism businesses were given a valuable opportunity to connect directly with larger regional tour operators.

These interactions are expected to foster new alliances that could lead to more integrated and tourist-friendly travel packages across the Mundo Maya countries.

The exchange marks a significant effort to position the region as a cohesive and attractive destination for international travelers, while also supporting local tourism development.
