By Zoila Palma: The Board of Directors of Belize Government Lotteries Limited (BGLL) announced on March 5, 2026, that the Belize Red Cross and Pathlight Belize were selected as the recipients of the unclaimed winnings of the ‘Million Dalla Jackpot’ that was drawn on December 20, 2025.
Each organization was awarded a check in the amount of $55,555.55.
“This significant contribution will directly support the Belize Red Cross with its ongoing efforts in disaster preparedness and response, health services, and community resilience initiatives across Belize,” BGLL said.
Pathlight Belize, another respected nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing education and leadership development in underserved communities across Belize, will also benefit from these funds to expand its programs, provide greater access to educational opportunities, and continue its mission of equipping students and communities with the tools they need to thrive.
“While the prize remained unclaimed, we are confident that these funds will now find their highest purpose in supporting the Belize Red Cross in its humanitarian work across the country and Pathlight Belize in its work to strengthen Belize’s workforce through support offered to Belizean students across the country,” BGLL added.
BGLL says that it recognizes the invaluable role that both organizations play in strengthening communities and assisting those in need and this contribution reaffirms BGLL’s commitment to supporting initiatives that uplift and empower the people of Belize.
BGLL extended congratulations to the Belize Red Cross and Pathlight Belize on these awards.
