By Zoila Palma: The Belize Forest Department continues to make significant progress in strengthening its Institutional Review and developing its 2026–2030 Action Plan.
On July 7, 2026, the Belize Forest Department staff gathered to analyze, review, and refine the Department’s mission, vision, and the values that guide public servants in serving the people of Belize.
Through this collaborative process, the Forest Department is building a stronger, more modern institution with the governance and capacity needed to meet the needs of Belize, both now and into the future.
The Forest Department extended appreciation to the German Cooperation (BMZ-GIZ) GIZ Centroamérica , through the Selva Maya Programme, for providing the technical facilitation and continued support that is helping to shape this important process.
