By Aaron Humes: The Statistical Institute of Belize has reported a robust economic performance for the fourth quarter of 2025 – 4.7 percent growth in Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

The preliminary estimates indicate that the total value of goods and services produced from October to December reached $1.396 billion, an increase of $63.3 million compared to the $1.333 billion generated in the same period of the previous year.

There were significant improvements across all sectors, with particularly strong contributions from both the primary and tertiary sectors. Agriculture, along with service-related industries, demonstrated marked increases.

Government taxes on products increased by 4.6 percent from $167.1 million in the fourth quarter of 2024 to $174.8 million, reflecting the expanding economic activities and consumption patterns within Belize.

The full year outlook on GDP is expected to be announced at a future press conference.
