By Zoila Palma: Belize experienced a significant 21% increase in land-based, overnight visitors in 2024, with 562,405 arrivals, Travel Pulse reports.

This marked an 11.8% rise compared to pre-pandemic 2019 numbers, with record arrivals in 11 out of 12 months. March led with 69,202 visitors.

The Belize Tourism Board (BTB) anticipates even higher numbers for 2025, supported by a $250 million expansion of Philip Goldson International Airport, aimed at enhancing passenger capacity and flight operations.

However, cruise arrivals declined slightly by 1.6% in 2024, totaling 764,993 visitors, though the sector has recovered 73.1% of its 2019 numbers.
