Belize Enterprise Enhancement Program awards BZ$203,000 in seed capital to 29 MSMEs under Maturing Cohort 2

The Belize Enterprise Enhancement Program (BEEP) has approved grant funding for twenty-nine (29) Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) under its Maturing Cohort 2, following a competitive pitch evaluation process. Of these, twenty-one (21) are women-led businesses and eight ( are men-led, with 45% of the recipients being from the rural areas, underscoring BEEPโ€™s commitment to inclusive economic growth all Belizeans.

Each MSME will receive BZ$7,000 in Seed Capital, for a total disbursement of BZ$203,000 under this cohort. The businesses span key sectors including agriculture and agro-processing, food and beverage, tourism and experiences, creative industries, wellness and beauty, and technology. These investments are expected to strengthen operations, expand production, and boost competitiveness in local and regional value chains.

With the completion of this stage, BEEP has now supported fifteen (15) exporting companies, forty-four (44) maturing companies, and fourteen (14) start-ups. To date BEEP has now supported a total of 73 MSMEs and disbursed a total of funding of approximately BZ$783,000 in direct support to Belizean enterprises.ย

At the conclusion of the project in 2026, it is expected that a total of ninety-five (95) MSMEs will receive funding, bringing overall program support to approximately BZ$800,000. This continued investment reaffirms the Government of Belizeโ€™s commitment to strengthening Belizeโ€™s MSME ecosystem, fostering innovation, and promoting sustainable, inclusive economic growth.
