The National Meteorological Service forecasts a pleasant day with sunny spells and cloudy periods, although scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected, mainly in southern and coastal areas.
Despite the pleasant conditions today, a shift in the weather pattern is on the horizon. Shower activity is predicted to increase tonight, particularly along the coast and offshore. This trend of unsettled weather will continue into Thursday with showers, periods of rain, and isolated thunderstorms expected throughout Belize.
Adding a note of caution to the forecast is the potential development of a tropical system in the southwestern Caribbean Sea. While the current outlook suggests no immediate threat, this system bears watching as it has a medium chance of development over the next 7 days.
For those enjoying the beaches and coastal areas today, marine conditions are favorable with light chop and waves of 2-4 feet. Winds are N-NE at 5-15 knots. However, these conditions may change as the weather deteriorates.
Tourists and residents are encouraged to stay informed about weather updates and heed advisories issued by the National Meteorological Service.
