By Horace Palacio: Belizeans can expect a generally fair day with sunny spells and cloudy patches across the country. While isolated showers or thunderstorms are possible, most areas will remain dry. Temperatures will be warm, reaching a high of 88°F on the coast and 91°F inland.
Meanwhile, in the Atlantic, Tropical Storm Leslie continues its northward journey, packing maximum sustained winds of 60 mph. Currently located over 1600 miles west-southwest of the Azores, Leslie poses no immediate threat to land. However, meteorologists are monitoring a developing low-pressure system over the Cabo Verde Islands, which has a medium chance of intensifying into a tropical cyclone within the next 48 hours.
Boaters can anticipate light chop and 2-4 ft waves, with winds blowing from the north-northwest at 5-15 knots. For those planning beach activities, low tide is expected at 11:28 AM and again at 10:08 PM, while high tide will peak at 6:08 PM.
Looking ahead to the weekend, similar weather conditions are expected to persist, with sunny spells and isolated showers.
