Belize Electricity Limited urges everyone to practice Energy Conservation especially during peak hours

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: The Belize Electricity Limited (BEL) says that their teams continue to manage the impact of high temperatures and dry weather conditions.

“Rest assured that we are working arduously with our bulk power producers to manage the increase in power consumption,” BEL said.

The company is urging customers to assist by practicing energy conservation, where possible, particularly during peak consumption hours, in order to alleviate strain on the power supply.

“We will inform our Customers immediately if any further actions need to be taken to stabilize the power supply,” BEL added.

The company says that it continues to implement their long-term plan to bolster system capacity and reliability and build a modern energy services infrastructure by increasing in-country renewable energy generation, deploying battery storage solutions in strategic locations throughout the country, installing new transmission and substations, and modernizing our distribution network.
