By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Despite having only 12 players available, Caesar Ridge FC delivered a commanding performance, defeating defending champions Survivors 6-2 at the Marion Jones Sports Complex on Sunday May 11, 2025, in the Belize District Football Association (BDFA) 1st Division Closing Championship.
The limited squad didn’t seem to affect Caesar Ridge’s attacking prowess. Kenon Zuniga struck twice early, scoring in the 7th and 12th minutes, before Francis Arana added a third in the 35th minute. Devin McCauley then took over, scoring a second-half hat-trick in the 48th, 53rd, and 80th minutes, sealing a more than convincing victory.
Survivors attempted a late fightback, with Carlos Lopez scoring in the 83rd minute and Devon Augustine adding another in the 88th, but it was too little, too late.
The victory propelled Caesar Ridge to second place with 10 points, boosting their standings and keeping their playoff hopes alive.
