By Zoila Palma: Today, Mayor Bernard Wagner welcomed Belizeans home to Belize City for the start of the Belize Diaspora Summit 3.0.
The event is taking place from July 23–25, 2026.
Over 3 days, the Summit will bring together members of the diaspora, government representatives, business leaders, entrepreneurs, innovators, and development partners for meaningful discussions on nation-building, investment, access to capital, technology, youth development, and even stronger diaspora engagement.
“The relationship between Belize and its diaspora is not weakened by distance. It is strengthened by purpose, sustained by love, and renewed every time one of you asks: ‘How can I contribute?’” Mayor Wagner said.
The Belize City Council encourages Belizeans at home and abroad to engage, build connections, support the participating businesses and initiatives, and help transform these important conversations into lasting partnerships, investments, mentorship opportunities, and solutions for Belize’s future.
