The National Meteorological Service forecasts cloudy spells with scattered showers and thunderstorms throughout the day, with activity concentrating along the coast by nightfall.
While the entire country can expect some rainfall today, coastal regions will bear the brunt of the unsettled weather as the day progresses. This pattern is expected to continue into Friday, with showers and isolated thunderstorms lingering, especially in coastal areas.
Although the immediate forecast focuses on rainfall, a broader concern remains the potential for tropical development in the Caribbean Sea. While no tropical cyclone formation is anticipated in the North Atlantic, Caribbean Sea, or Gulf of Mexico within the next 48 hours, a broad area of low pressure over the southwestern Caribbean Sea continues to be monitored. This system maintains a medium chance of development over the next 7 days.
Residents, particularly those in coastal communities, are advised to remain vigilant and stay informed about weather updates. Precautions such as securing loose objects, clearing drainage areas, and having emergency kits readily available are recommended.
