By Zoila Palma: Today, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement extending congratulations to Andy Burnham MP on his appointment as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, and to Edward Miliband MP on his appointment as Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs.
“Belize looks forward to working closely with the new UK Government to further strengthen the enduring friendship and partnership between our two countries, founded on shared values, mutual respect, and cooperation within the Commonwealth and beyond,” the Ministry expressed.
Burnham assumed office on July 20, 2026 succeeding Keir Starmer.
