By Zoila Palma: On January 25, 2026, Youth Shadow Councillors Sanaa Rowland and Arthur Butler, alongside Councillor for Sister City Relations, Councillor Stephanne Hamilton, departed for Sister City Miramar, Florida to participate in a Youth Shadow Council Exchange Initiative.
The Belize City delegation will be received by Mayor Wayne Messam and the Miramar City Government team, marking another milestone in the growing Sister City relationship.
“This exchange is about exposure, opportunity, and leadership giving Belize City youth direct insight into local government, civic engagement, education, and cultural exchange while representing our city on an international stage,” the Belize City Council explained.
“When e invest in our youth, we invest in Belize City’s future,” the council added.
