By Zoila Palma: A Belize City woman has reported being scammed after attempting to purchase a bed frame online.
On May 2, 2025, Meagan Tasher reported to police that in early February she saw a Facebook advertisement for a king-size bed frame from a page named Embellish Charm Treasures.
She contacted the seller via WhatsApp and agreed to a payment plan. Between February 11 and March 20, she transferred a total of $1,245 BZD to a Belize Bank account in the name of Emily Gamas.
She was told the bed frame would arrive in mid-March, but by mid-April, she was informed that the order had not been placed.
Despite promises of a refund, Tasher has yet to receive either the bed frame or her money.
Police are investigating the matter.
