By Breaking Belize News Staff: A Belize City resident, Kimberly Jones, 35, has been released on bail following a domestic dispute with her 66 year old mother over alleged household cleanliness issues involving rodents and roaches. The altercation reportedly escalated, resulting in Kimberly throwing a pint bottle at her mother, which struck her in the face and required medical attention.

The incident occurred on the evening of August 23, 2024, at the family’s residence on Youth for the Future Drive in Belize City. According to the police report, the dispute arose when Jones’ mother, who lives in a wooden house adjacent to Kimberly’s two-story home, complained about the accumulation of dirty clothes under Kimberly’s house, which she believed was attracting pests into her home.

During the heated exchange, Kimberly allegedly reacted by throwing a bottle at her mother, leading to her arrest. She was subsequently arraigned on a single charge of harm in court, where she pleaded not guilty.

Kimberly Jones was granted bail in the sum of $1,500 and is required to stay away from her mother and refrain from any further offenses, especially against her mother, as a condition of her release. Her next court appearance is scheduled for October 28, 2024.

The police have launched an investigation into the incident, and Glenda Jones has been treated for her injuries at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital.
