By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Belize City Triathlon is back and bolder than ever. Now in its third edition, the high-energy event is set to transform the streets and shoreline of Belize City into a thrilling arena of endurance and speed on Sunday, November 30, 2025.
Organized by the Belize City Council in collaboration with the Belize National Triathlon Association, the National Sports Council, and the Belize Coast Guard, the triathlon invites athletes of all levels to test their mettle in a dynamic course that combines running, cycling, and swimming — all against the vibrant backdrop of the city.
From seasoned triathletes to first-time challengers, participants will navigate a scenic and demanding route along Belize City’s waterfront and historic streets. The event has quickly become a staple in the local sports calendar, drawing competitors from across the country and the region.
This year’s race kicks off at 6:00 AM sharp from Lord Rhaburn Plaza (Memorial Park), featuring:

Athletes can compete in two formats:
- Individual Triathlon — one athlete completes all three segments
- Relay Triathlon — a team of three shares the swim, ride, and run
- Individual: Women, Men, Junior Women, Junior Men
- Relay: Corporate, Open, Open Mixed, Junior Mixed, Junior
With up to $5,000 in prizes on the line, the Belize City Triathlon is more than a race — it’s a celebration of resilience, unity, and the Belizean spirit, growing stronger year after year.
