Thursday afternoon, Belize City will come alive with pride and celebration as Saint Catherine Academy’s volleyball team—fresh off their historic gold medal win at the CODICADER U15 Championship in Costa Rica—along with Belize’s other medallists, are honoured with a victory motorcade through the streets of the Old Capital.

Motorcade Route & Community Involvement
The motorcade, organized by SCA, is scheduled to begin at 2:30 pm from the SCA campus. The celebratory route will pass through:
- Marine Parade
- Princess Margaret Drive
- Flag Monument
- Freetown Road
- Craig Street
- Marine Parade
- Returning to SCA Campus
Community members are invited to join the motorcade or schedule stops along the way by contacting 223-4908. The event promises to be a vibrant display of national pride, honouring Belize’s only gold medalists and the three other medallists from the IX Juegos Deportivos Estudiantiles Centroamericanos.
Honouring a Historic Victory
Led by team captain Jamielee Espejo—named tournament MVP—SCA’s volleyball team went undefeated in San José, Costa Rica, culminating in a dramatic 2–0 final win over Costa Rica’s Liceo Experimental Bilingüe de Turrialba. The tightly contested sets (28–26, 26–24) demosntrated the team’s resilience, tactical brilliance, and unwavering determination.

Belize’s CODICADER Medal Tally
SCA’s gold was the final medal awarded in the tournament, sealing Belize’s campaign with a flourish.
Though Belize competed in only two of the 13 disciplines—volleyball and athletics—the delegation of 34 athletes earned four medals:
Gold: SCA Girls Volleyball Team
Silver: Jayden Gentle (Long Jump – 1.70m)
Bronze: Brayden Jacobs (150m – 17.53s)- Bronze: Jan Philippe Sosa (Javelin 500g – 40.41m)
St John’s College placed fifth in Boys Volleyball, showing promise against larger regional contingents.
