By Aaron Humes: A 61-year-old taxi driver from Belize City visited the Precinct Two Crimes Investigation Branch to report the loss of valuable items following a night of heavy drinking.
On Independence Day Sunday evening, he visited his wife’s residence on Dickinson Street. After spending time there, he returned to his home on Lawrence Avenue to sleep, admittedly under the influence of alcohol at the time.
Upon waking the following day, September 22, the complainant discovered that two items were missing: a 10-karat gold Cuban Link chain weighing 55.5 grams, valued at $7,700, and a black iPhone 15 Pro Max, valued at $3,000. He noted that he last remembered possessing both items after leaving his wife’s house but could not recall if they were lost or stolen.
Police are investigating.
