Belize City shooting victim says he is not able to identify shooter

By Aaron Humes: A shooting incident has left a 28-year-old man hospitalized and recovering after an attack on Thursday night. Esau Louima was on the veranda of his home on Tibruce Street when an unknown assailant entered his yard and opened fire.

ACP Hilberto Romero, Head, National Crime Investigation Branch, provided an update on the ongoing investigation: “Upon arrival, [police] saw Esau Louima with a gunshot injury. He was taken for treatment, where he’s in stable condition. [Investigation is reported] that he was at the end of his house when a male person came and fired several shots towards his direction, causing his injury. We have no suspect at this time as he’s unable to identify the shooter.”

Louima was promptly transported to a medical facility, where he is currently in stable condition. Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting, urging anyone with information to come forward.
