Belize City man survives attempted murder on Hicatee Street

By Aaron Humes: Police are investigating an attempted murder that occurred in Belize City on Wednesday night.

On Wednesday, August 20, about 10:30 p.m., police responded to a report at the corner of Bocotora and Hicatee Street. Upon arrival, they were informed that a male person was shot and transported to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital for medical treatment. 

Initial investigation revealed that about 10:28 p.m., 33-year-old Steven Smith of Belize City, was walking on Hicatee Street when three men approached him, one of whom fired several shots in his direction, causing his injury. Smith was treated and released.
