By Breaking Belize News Staff: A Saint Martin’s De Porres area resident is tonight facing the consequences of a drug-related conviction after pleading guilty to possession of crack cocaine.
Glen Andrews, 41, a labourer of Lavender Street, appeared unrepresented before Magistrate Ludlow Black in Court #3 where he was charged with possession of a controlled drug. The substance, believed to be crack cocaine, was so minimal it could not register on a scale.
The charge stems from a police encounter on Cran Street on Thursday, May 1, 2025. In court, Andrews admitted the drugs were his, despite initially telling the magistrate, “They nuh find it with me. They find it in the drain.” He later conceded he had tossed it when he saw the police.
Magistrate Black accepted Andrews’ guilty plea and imposed a fine of $200 plus a $5 court cost. He has until May 30, 2025, to pay or face two months in prison by default.
