By Breaking Belize News Staff: Forty-four-year-old Dennis Sheldon Lewis is out on bail after being arraigned on a charge of threat of death.
Lewis, a resident of a Southside Belize City address, appeared unrepresented this week in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court, where he was read a single count of threat of death.
The allegation is that sometime last week, Lewis threatened to kill another man, reportedly telling him, “I wah kill yuh. I gaan for my gun right now.” The complainant told police the words placed him in fear for his life.
Lewis pleaded not guilty to the charge. There was no objection to bail, and he was offered bail in the sum of $300 plus one surety of the same amount, which he was able to meet.
He is due back in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court on August 5, 2026.
