By Zoila Palma: Mayor Bernard Wagner and the Belize City Council, alongside Chief Engineer at the Ministry of Infrastructure Development and Housing (MIDH) Evondale Moody, and his team, engaged residents in a comprehensive Town Hall Meeting on major upcoming infrastructure works.
The session provided residents with an overview of the upcoming George Price Highway upgrades and the replacement of the Belcan and Swing Bridges, while also addressing what these projects will mean for daily life in the city.
The Belize City Council says that discussions focused on how traffic will be managed during construction, how businesses and commuters may be affected, and the systems being put in place to ensure residents can stay informed and raise concerns throughout the process.
The Town Hall meeting allowed residents to better understand the scope of the works ahead and the long-term improvements these projects will bring to connectivity, safety, and mobility in Belize City.
The council thanked all attendees and those that tuned in online.
