By Zoila Palma: The holiday season officially kicks off in the Old Capital this month, as the Belize City Council prepares to host its Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony on Friday, November 28, 2025.
This year’s celebration, themed “A Christmas to Remember,” promises a festive and family-friendly evening in the heart of downtown.
The event will take place at Battlefield Park and Mule Park on Albert Street, beginning promptly at 6:00 p.m.
Residents and visitors alike are invited to gather as the Council and Coca-Cola Belize illuminate their signature Christmas trees, a tradition that has grown to symbolize the start of holiday cheer throughout the city.
Adding to the evening’s excitement, the celebration will feature the Francis Reneau Concert Series: Christmas Edition, showcasing a lineup of talented Belizean vocalists and musicians.
The Belize City Council encourages everyone to attend and celebrate the spirit of Christmas together as the city transforms into a glowing display of lights, music, and community warmth.
