By Breaking Belize News Staff: On March 30, 2026, the Belize Bus Association (BBA) wrote to the Ministry of Transport requesting intervention from the Government of Belize following the recent increase in fuel prices.
The BBA cites the rising cost of fuel and parts and calls on Government to consider several options to ease the burden on operators.
Those proposals include the exemption of General Sales Tax on fuel, tires, and parts; the provision of government subsidies similar to those provided during the COVID-19 pandemic, or allowing bus operators to increase bus fares.
