By Breaking Belize News Staff: A tropical wave is supporting moist and unstable conditions over Belize today, according to the National Meteorological Service.
Forecasters say skies will be cloudy at times with showers and thunderstorms expected across most of the country, especially in northern and southern areas during the day. Activity is expected to decrease tonight, though the south may still see a few more showers and isolated thunderstorms developing.
Marine conditions remain challenging, with winds from the east-southeast at 10 to 20 knots, occasionally gusty, producing moderate to rough seas. Waves are forecast between four and seven feet. Small craft operators are advised to exercise caution due to gusty winds and locally rough seas near heavy showers and thunderstorms.
Daytime highs are forecast at 85°F along the coast, 91°F inland, and 79°F in the hills. Tonight, temperatures will fall to 81°F on the coast, 74°F inland, and 68°F in the hills.
Looking ahead to Tuesday and Tuesday night, skies will remain partly cloudy with generally isolated showers. However, forecasters say there is a medium chance of a few more showers developing in southern areas.
