By Aaron Humes: The nation is on tenterhooks as it awaits much-anticipated comments from Prime Minister John Briceño and Commissioner of Police (ComPol) Richard Rosado regarding the status of a report that was due to be presented last Friday.
A press conference has been scheduled for 1:30 this afternoon concerning troubling developments related to the recent abduction case involving Joseph Budna. Budna has alleged that the officers involved made direct references to contacting the Commissioner during the incident, raising serious concerns about police conduct.
Adding to the uncertainty, multiple unconfirmed reports suggest that Commissioner Rosado is expected to take a leave of absence effective today, as investigations into Budna’s abduction continue.
Government sources have reportedly indicated that the Prime Minister is expected to issue a statement around noon today. None of the concerned parties have given any indication they intend to be present to answer questions from the media.
The UDP Parliamentarian Caucus was also scheduled to have a briefing at the exact same time.
