The project is valued at US$1,927,797.

The signing ceremony marked a significant milestone in bilateral cooperation, reinforcing Belize’s national capacity to anticipate, prepare for, and effectively respond to climate-related and natural disasters.

The project, funded primarily by the Government of Taiwan with co-financing from the Government of Belize, focused on enhancing inter-ministerial coordination, expanding multi-hazard early warning systems, strengthening resilient communities, and introducing advanced wildfire monitoring technologies.

Through institutional strengthening, technical system development, and capacity building, the initiative was designed to reinforce Belize’s disaster risk management and emergency response framework over the 2026–2029 period.

The signing reaffirmed the strong partnership between Belize and Taiwan and their joint commitment to safeguarding communities, protecting natural resources, and building long-term national resilience in the face of increasing climate and disaster risks.
