By Zoila Palma: Belize on Sunday marked the 44th anniversary of diplomatic relations with Mexico, the first country to formally recognize Belize’s independence in 1981.
“Mexico holds a special place in our national history.
We honour decades of enduring friendship, close cooperation, and a shared commitment to peace, development, and solidarity,” Belize’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted.
Mexico and Belize have made substantial progress in building a bilateral relationship that is characterized by permanent dialogue at the highest level and coincidence of their positions in regional forums.
