BEL releases Tentative Load Shedding Schedule for Wednesday night

By Aaron Humes: According to Belize Electricity Limited (BEL), starting at 6:00 p.m., this evening, load shedding may become necessary for various sections of the country to maintain stability of the national grid.

BEL reports that the load shedding schedule is based on energy demand and generation projections, which can quickly change throughout the day. CFE supply is being regularly turned off at 7 p.m. nightly.

The potentially affected areas are as follows: between 6 and 9 p.m., all of Vista Del Mar, part of Marage Road and Milpa Site, Ladyville; Belama Phases 2, 3 and 4 in Belize City and areas along the Philip Goldson Highway from James Brodies Northern Highway Supermarket to Vista Del Mar.

From 7 to 10 p.m., all communities along the George Price Highway from La Democracia to Blackman Eddy, south to Armenia on the Hummingbird Highway, and Maya Mopan, Las Flores, J and W, Riviera and University Heights in Belmopan.

From 8 to 11 p.m., Silk Grass, Hopkins and Sittee River as well as surrounding areas and parts of the Placencia Peninsula near Riversdale could be without power.

And from 9 p.m. to midnight, the River Valley between Burrell Boom and Rancho Dolores and the George Price Highway between Western Paradise and Jih Chan at Mile 25 including Hattieville could be without power.
