BDFA 1st Division Closing Championship kicks off Sunday at Marion Jones Sports Complex

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Belize District Football Association (BDFA) is set to launch its 2025–2026 First Division Closing Championship this Sunday, January 11, with a triple-header showdown at the Marion Jones Sports Complex in Belize City.

The tournament opener promises a full afternoon of competitive football as six teams take the field in pursuit of early momentum in the district’s top amateur league.

Match Schedule:

• 1:00 pm – Kelly Street Bombers vs 13 Miles Elite
• 3:00 pm – CRFC vs Ladyville Wolves
• 5:00 pm – Tut Bay FC vs Lake I FC

The event marks the official start of the BDFA’s Closing Championship, which follows the traditional split-season format used across Belize.

Fans attending the opening day can expect more than just football. Food and drinks will be on sale—including cold beverages and snacks to keep the crowd energized.

The BDFA encourages supporters from across Belize District to come out and cheer for their local clubs, as the tournament kicks off.
