Police allege that Banner was found in possession of the certificate in Ladyville on October 21, 2026, knowing that the document was false or not genuine.

No plea was taken during the arraignment after the prosecutor informed the court that directions were being sought from the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions on whether the matter would proceed summarily in the Magistrate’s Court or on indictment before the High Court.

With no objection from the prosecution, Banner was granted bail of $3,000, which he met. His bail conditions required one surety of $3,000 or two sureties of $1,500 each.

Banner is scheduled to return to court on December 28, 2026.
