By Breaking Belize News Staff: Moses “Shyne” Barrow used the stage at Sunday’s National Convention to reflect on his leadership journey, praise party stalwarts, and reaffirm the UDP’s mission to restore national prosperity.
Barrow reminded delegates that leadership is temporary but service must be lasting. “We occupy these spaces temporarily… however what lives forever is the ideals and principles of altruism, service and empowerment,” he said.
Shyne emphasized that the UDP’s purpose is rooted in nation-building. “That is why we are here, to serve Belize,” he said. “To develop our Nation to a level where healthcare, education, food security, job security, citizen security, youth inclusion, gender equality aren’t campaign policies discussed but never materialized.”
Barrow highlighted the historic significance of the moment as the party prepares for leadership change.
He said his hope is that the party continues to grow stronger through unity. “No one leader can do it alone, only through unified efforts of all you can we preserve Democracy and advance prosperity for all Belizeans,” he stated.
He closed the address with a renewed pledge to remain active within the party and national politics, saying the future of Belize must remain paramount.
“Thank you again for the privilege of a lifetime,” Barrow said. “GOD BLESS BELIZE. LONG LIVE THE UDP.”
