By Rubén Morales Iglesias: As part of its 25th Anniversary celebrations, the Belize Agricultural Health Authority (BAHA) recognized the dedication of two employees who have served the institution for a decade. Ernilda Sandoval and Orlin Cruz, both stationed at Central Farm, were honoured during BAHA’s 2025 Staff Appreciation and Recognition Day for completing 10 years of committed service.
Sandoval, BAHA’s Janitress, and Cruz, an Aquatic Animal Health Laboratory Technician, received commemorative awards in recognition of their contributions to BAHA’s mission of ensuring safe and wholesome food, protecting animal and plant health, and supporting national development. Their work reflects the Authority’s values of inclusiveness, competence, and integrity.
Held in a spirit of unity and reflection, the Staff Appreciation and Recognition Day brought together employees from across Belize to celebrate BAHA’s journey since its founding in 2000. Alongside Sandoval and Cruz, other employees were also recognized for reaching service milestones of 15 and 25 years, underscoring the organization’s appreciation for long-term commitment and professional excellence.
As BAHA continues to evolve, the dedication of staff like Sandoval and Cruz remains vital to its success in safeguarding Belize’s agricultural health and food safety.
