By Breaking Belize News Staff: Blackman Eddy Village, Cayo District, has been the scene of two serious crimes this week, leaving residents on edge as police work to track down those responsible.

On Tuesday evening, August 12, 2025, a broad daylight armed robbery unfolded at the Puma gas station in the heart of the village.

Police say 44-year-old William Wall, a businessman from Little Belize in the Orange Walk District, was accompanied by David Harder and Jose Heredia when two men on a motorcycle pulled up.

Wearing long-sleeved shirts to conceal their identities, one of the assailants, armed with a 9mm pistol, demanded cash from Wall.

When Wall attempted to escape, the gunman chased him and fired two shots into the ground. A stone ricocheted from the impact, striking Wall in the right foot and abdomen. Fearing for his life, he handed over a bag containing $8,000 in cash. The robbers sped off toward Teakettle Village. Police recovered two expended shells from the scene and have launched an active investigation.

Two days later, in the early hours of Thursday, August 14, police were called to a home in the village following reports of a late-night invasion. According to initial information, three men entered the residence. During the confrontation, one of the assailants was killed, while the other two managed to flee.

No members of the targeted household were injured. Investigators remain tight-lipped about the identity of the deceased or whether the incident may be linked to the earlier robbery.

Police are urging anyone with information on either case to come forward as both investigations continue.
